JOHN PATTISON

John Pattison is a writer and amateur nature photographer. He is also the community builder for the nonprofit Strong Towns. His book Slow Church was inspired by the Slow Food movement and explores how faith communities can be more rooted in the pace and place of their particular neighborhoods. John and his family live in intentional Christian community with another family in Silverton, Oregon. All told, there are four adults, four kids, four generations, and one dog, in a house they call The Burrow. DAVID JOHNSON

Dave Johnson is a seminary student working on a Master of Divinity degree in History, Theology, and Ethics. He is also a reader, an early-morning walker, and a life-long baseball fan. Dave lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, two children, a leopard gecko, a lop-eared rabbit, three cats, and two dogs, one of whom is named Burley.

John and David have been best friends for 30 years. They have been discussing Wendell Berry for the last 15.

JASON HARDY

Jason Hardy is a teacher, musician, and writer. He teaches courses in the humanities at Milligan College and King University. As part of his M.A. in English Literature from the University of Tennessee, he wrote a master’s thesis titled Tell Me a Story: Metaphysics and the Literary Criticism of Robert Penn Warren and Wendell Berry. Jason lives in Elizabethton, Tennessee, with his wife Laura.
